With your help, we will continue to promote the positive advancements that keep Santa Cruz rolling forward as a premier community for cycling. All of the bikes used in our programs are refurbished bikes that have been graciously donated to the shop from the community. The Bike 2015 Plan guides the work of the Chicago Bicycle Program. These changes were developed based on usage data and feedback from both.

This years program features a blanket speed limit reduction to 30 km/hour on all routes, plus additional weekend/summer measures specific to each street. Bike Santa Cruz County has set a modest goal to fundraise $2,500 between now and Dec 31st - thanks to your generous support, we are already more than halfway there. The 2022 Enhanced Summer Bike Route program was approved by City Council on April 28, 2022. We are asking you, our members, one last time to contribute whatever you can in the short term, which will ensure that we can keep our organization afloat through 2022. We are exploring ways to work with our local bike shops and educational partners to serve these young people and their families virtually. Not only have we created resources to help our members continue cycling safely during this unprecedented set of circumstances, but we have also taken this opportunity to reflect on our own internal processes, finding ways to stay lean, efficient, and innovative. As part of our response to this pandemic, we have postponed many of our events and programs, while seeking creative ways of remaining effective. Your contributions have directly supported our mission of promoting bicycling through advocacy, education, and community building during a time when many of our daily lives have been thoroughly disrupted, limiting our ability to work, recreate, exercise, and enjoy our wonderful natural environment. Residents planning to use ActiveTO routes. For those who plan on driving to the start of the ride: there is ample on-street. They are open to pedestrians and people cycling and closed to vehicles.
